DEVELOPER TOOLS
Environment configuration
Where to keep your key and the base URL, in a shell, a `.env` file and CI.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| API key | TESSEN_API_KEY — begins tes_ |
| Base URL | https://api.tessen.ai/v1 |
Shell
MACOS, LINUX, WSL
export TESSEN_API_KEY="tes_..."WINDOWS POWERSHELL
$env:TESSEN_API_KEY = "tes_..."A .env file
If your tooling loads a .env file, keep it out of version control.
.ENV
TESSEN_API_KEY=tes_....GITIGNORE
.envCI and servers
- Store the key in your CI system's secret store or a secret manager, and expose it to the job as an environment variable.
- Use one key per program or environment, so a leaked key can be revoked without stopping everything.
- Never print the key in logs. The examples read it with
os.environandprocess.envand never echo it.
Note
The Tessen CLI and OpenCode do not use TESSEN_API_KEY: tessen opencode stores their credential in OpenCode's own credential store.
