Billing errors

What you see when the wallet cannot cover a request or an account cannot call a model, and what to do.

402 insufficient_credits

The wallet's available balance cannot cover the request's worst-case cost. Nothing is charged and nothing stays held.

402 RESPONSE

THE SAME REFUSAL IN A STREAM
data: {"error": {"message": "Insufficient credit balance", "type": "insufficient_credits", "required_usd": 0.0032835, "available_usd": 0.0, "allowed_actions": ["top_up"]}}

required_usd is the request's worst-case cost, which depends on max_tokens; lowering max_tokens lowers it. allowed_actions lists what could resolve it. Today, adding funds is not open to the public, so contact Tessen if you are a pilot account.

400 model_not_found for a model you expect to have

"This commercial family is not available for inference" means the account is not enrolled in the commercial pilot, whatever its balance. It is not a billing error and adding funds will not change it.

In the Console

  • A model whose account has no available credit appears as unavailable in the Playground, with "Your wallet has no available credit."
  • Wallet & Billing shows "Adding funds is not open for this account yet" while top-ups are closed.
Note

Refund terms for purchased credit will be published before purchases open. Credit labelled "Pilot testing credit" is promotional: it is not a payment, not refundable and cannot be withdrawn.
